MOMMA’S BOY

DOCUMENTARY SHORT

Director | Cinematographer | Editor

"Momma's Boy" follows the emotional journey of a woman faced with the decision to euthanize her beloved, terminally ill cat, and explores the interconnectedness of grief and the enduring bond between humans and their animal companions.

For as long as I can remember, our family pets have been the vessels through which my Mother’s loyalty, grace and compassion were demonstrated, and being a witness to that love and loss over the course of my life instilled in me the same adoration for animals, and a desire to live and love as benevolently as she has.

Dealing with themes of love and legacy, death and the loss of innocence, Momma’s Boy explores my Mother’s point of view through trauma, her deep love for her departed family and past pets, and the childlike fear of abandonment that accompanies her experience through grief.

In an act of dedication to her and the pets she taught me to love through, I made this film.
